What Are Earning Flows?

Earning flows are the rules that define how customers accumulate loyalty points. JeriCommerce supports 8 standard earning flows plus up to 5 fully custom flows you can design from scratch, which you can combine to build a comprehensive loyalty program. Every flow has a title, description, and icon that customers see in their loyalty app, all of which support multiple languages.

You can also use Boost Campaigns to temporarily multiply the points customers earn from selected earning flows.

The number of earning flows available depends on your plan: Free = 2 flows, Growth/Advanced/Enterprise = all flows.

Available Earning Flows

Credit Points for Purchases

The most common earning flow. Customers earn a percentage of their order value as points, working like a cashback system but in points.

Go to Earning Flows

Go to your JeriCommerce dashboard and select Settings > Earning Flows.

Turn on Purchase Points

Toggle on Credit Points for Purchases and set your points ratio.

Set the ratio

Set the percentage of order value to credit as points. For example, 10% means a customer spending 100 EUR earns 10 points.

For fashion retail, a ratio of 5-10% works well. For high-frequency purchases (food, cosmetics), consider 3-5% to keep reward economics sustainable.

Credit Points for Social Media Follows

Reward customers for following your brand on social platforms. Supports Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), YouTube, Spotify, and WhatsApp channels. You can pick up to 4 networks at a time.

Social follow points are credited based on the customer clicking the link, not on verification of the actual follow. Each platform can only be credited once per customer.

Credit Points after Installing the Loyalty Card

Automatically reward customers when they add your loyalty card to their Apple or Google Wallet. This is a powerful incentive to drive card installations.

Welcome Customer

Points granted when the customer confirms their account, welcoming new members and encouraging data quality. This flow was previously called Verify account.

Points for Completing the Profile

Reward customers when they fill in the profile fields you ask for (first name, last name, phone, birthday). Pick the fields you want collected, set how many points the customer earns, and the points are credited automatically the first time all chosen fields have a value. Check-in at Your Locations

For brands with physical stores, reward customers for checking in at your locations using their wallet pass.

Referral-Based Earning

Reward customers when a friend they referred completes a key action. The trigger depends on your plan:

Referrals are an add-on at 15 EUR/month, not included in the base subscription.

Manual Balance Adjustment

Adjust points manually from the admin panel, Shopify Flow, or POS. Every adjustment includes a reason field for employee accountability.

Custom Earning Flows

For anything the standard flows do not cover, you get 5 free slots to build your own. Set the points, the recurrence, the button label, and the destination URL. Trigger the points from a tap in the loyalty webapp, from a Shopify Flow workflow, or from your own backend through the API. See Custom Earning Flows for setup, action modes, and worked examples.
