Use this setup for physical stores. The simplest staff workflow is: identify the customer → apply an available reward → complete the sale.

Before configuring POS, enable Loyalty and Rewards in Settings > Integrations > JeriCommerce. Purchase points also require the Credit Points for Purchases earning flow to be active.

Shopify Admin's POS editor with the JeriCommerce customer scanner tile added

This screenshot is from the Shopify Admin POS editor in the staging store. Depending on your JeriCommerce and Shopify versions, the scanner can appear as Customer Scanner | Identify a customer by QR or NFC or Scan Wallet Pass.

1

Add the JeriCommerce scanner and optional tiles

In Shopify Admin, go to Point of Sale > Settings > POS app, open the POS editor, and choose the smart-grid page used by your store (for example, Page 1). In Sections, add an app tile and choose JeriCommerce.

On the staging account shown above, the scanner is labelled Customer Scanner | Identify a customer by QR or NFC. In some accounts the same function is labelled Scan Wallet Pass. If your version exposes separate tiles, also add Customer Rewards for redemption and Update Wallet Balance for manual adjustments when you use JeriCommerce Loyalty.

Save the smart grid. The tile setup guide includes the older in-app path and the label variations.

2

Sync your locations

Make sure each Shopify POS device belongs to the correct Shopify location. If you use NFC, connect the reader to its location using the NFC setup guide.

3

Train staff on identification

Ask the customer to show their wallet QR code. Open Customer Scanner or Scan Wallet Pass and scan it with the POS camera or a QR scanner gun. The customer is attached to the current cart before the sale is completed.

Customers without a wallet pass can be found by email or phone. You can invite them to install the pass with a QR code on the receipt using the Receipt QR Code guide.

4

Apply a reward

Before payment, open Customer Rewards when that tile is available. Check the customer's balance, open Rewards or Coupons, and tap Redeem reward or Apply. Confirm that the discount appears in the cart, then finish checkout. For the detailed flow, see Redeem Rewards on Shopify POS.

5

Process the sale

Complete the sale after any reward has been applied. Purchase points are credited automatically after the order when the purchase earning flow is active and the order is associated with the customer's email. If a holding period is configured, the points become spendable after that period.

6

Test one online and one in-store order

Use a staff account to verify identification, points, reward redemption, and the updated balance. Wait through the holding period before checking that points are spendable. Repeat the test with a customer who has no wallet pass so staff know the fallback flow.

Put the scan tile first in the smart grid. It makes customer identification the natural first step and lets the rest of the checkout stay in Shopify POS.

Balance adjustments from POS apply immediately. Use them for corrections or goodwill gestures, not as a replacement for the normal purchase earning flow.
