The safest migration path is to plan the data first, pause the old program at the right moment, and let the JeriCommerce team import the customer balances manually.

JeriCommerce currently handles this migration as a manual CSV import. Confirm the supported fields, the point-to-reward conversion, and the cutover date with the team before disabling the old app.

1

Choose the migration date

Pick a quiet time and decide when the old app stops awarding points. Keep one source of truth during the changeover so customers cannot earn twice.

Do not leave both apps awarding points during the cutover unless the JeriCommerce team has given you a written transition plan.

2

Export your customer data

From the old loyalty app, export at least:

  • Customer email address
  • Current redeemable balance
  • First name and last name, if available
  • Phone number, if available
  • External customer ID, if your store uses one
  • Tier or membership status, if you want to preserve it

Keep the original export unchanged and make a copy for cleanup. Remove duplicate rows and confirm that each balance belongs to the correct email.

3

Contact JeriCommerce

Contact the JeriCommerce team before you import anything into the new program. In the JeriCommerce app, use Support or I need help and send the CSV through the secure channel the team provides. Include your Shopify store domain, the migration date, and the point-to-reward conversion you want to keep.

The team will review the file and complete the manual import through CSV. Do not upload the balances as ordinary earning events unless the team asks you to.

4

Prepare the new program

Install JeriCommerce, enable Loyalty and Rewards in Settings > Integrations > JeriCommerce, and configure the built-in loyalty program. Match the old program's labels, purchase earning rule, rewards, and customer-facing links before the import.

If you are migrating from LoyaltyLion, follow the LoyaltyLion integration setup and its pre-launch checklist instead of running two loyalty engines at once.

5

Verify the import

After the team confirms the import, compare the source and destination row counts and total balance. Then check a sample of customers across low, medium, and high balances. Confirm that each customer can access their wallet pass, see the correct balance, and redeem the expected reward.

6

Launch the new experience

Publish the Shopify Loyalty Hub, distribute wallet download links, and tell customers where to find their migrated balance.

The CSV should contain one row per customer. Do not send passwords, payment details, or other sensitive data that is not needed for the loyalty migration.

Do not repeat an import or resend a modified file without confirmation from the JeriCommerce team. A second import can duplicate or overwrite balances depending on the migration plan.

Keep the old export and the final migration report. They make it much easier to investigate a balance question after launch.
